Credit Union Youth Month

Celebrate Credit Union Youth Month this April by educating your kids about money.

  1. Even young children can learn about different types of money and savings. Open a basic savings for your child and encourage them to save a portion of gifts or allowance.
  2. Teach your tween basics like how to balance a checkbook and read a credit card statement.
  3. Have family money discussions with your teen – let them see how you manage and pay bills and budget household expenses. You may even want to let them access their Credit Union account in Online or Mobile Banking.
Important Tip Article
Important Tip. We will never ask you for your PIN, digital banking password, full card number or CVC code. You should not give this information out. Fraudsters have been spoofing our toll-free number and falsely identifying themselves as DECU employees. They state that there is suspected fraud on your account. To block your card and overnight a new one, the fraudsters ask for your PIN or Online Banking password, as well as other confidential information. To protect yourself, we recommend you check your account regular, sign up for text alerts and call us immediately if you suspect fraud. Be aware of bogus websites, charities, emails and social posts that are tactics to steal your information and money.
