Protect Yourself from Fraud

Every day, fraudsters are working hard to steal your information, and getting more sophisticated in doing so. Your security is a priority for us. Learn how to avoid common fraud attempts with these tips:

  1. Don’t send money unless you’re sure of who it is you are giving it to. Remain cautious.
  2. Don’t give out personal information – there is no reason to share your password or account numbers with someone who contacts you. We will not call asking you for personal information. These types of calls are likely scams.
    If you do need to send personal information to a confirmed, legitimate company, it should be sent safely (secure messenger, secure login, etc.), not through regular email.
  3. Beware of phishing emails. If an email seems too good to be true, is requesting personal information or money, or sounds “urgent”, it is probably a scam. Don’t click links on unexpected emails.
  4. If you are making an online payment, make sure the site you are using is legitimate and secure. Navigate directly to a known site vs. using links in emails.
